NEW NORMAL: Education vs Covid19
The COVID-19 in the Philippines shakes the entire regular living of every citizen in the country. It is not only the Philippines that suffers in this pandemic but this is just a part of the worldwide pandemic of the CoronaVirus disease 2019. As what the World Health Organization educated us about CoronaVirus disease 2019 as an infectious disease cause by the (SARS-CoV-2) this corona virus greatly affect the immune system of the host person causing it to deflate the immune system making the infected person fatal.
This worldwide pandemic makes every country literally stopped from doing their regular daily life activities. And to avoid spreading it, every country wold wide imposed a total lock down in each sovereign to address this situation. The Philippines also did it's job in protecting the health of it's country men. Therefore,the mid of March 2019 starts the unforgettable journey of every citizen not only the workmen but most specially the life of the students.
In the Middle of March 2019, "month of examinations and preparation for graduation" comes the great announcement of the National Official about the suspension of classes. Starting that, classes has not been able to come back. Then from this event arises the world's "FIRST" events of all time as far as I can remember. The first online graduation, online culmination, first online classes, first stay at home policy , etc. This Pandemic also pushes the event of the bloom of the Online New Normal.
Online New Normal, brings out the hidden creativity of educators and students from conducting graduations, culmination, exams online class modalities and even the booming of baby Vloggers on Youtube. Thousands of channels were created and skills were slowly hone in delivering online classes.
Despite the fact that CoronaVirus Disease impose a great fatal result in every person it did not stop the eagerness of every students as well as educators to continue the learning of every learners. That is why, the Department of Education helps in searching for the solution how to cope with this pandemic.
Various of Webinars were conducted in helping Educators become more effective and competent enough in helping deliver the lessons despite Covid-19. One of these is the introduction of Learning Modalities. These Modalities will be discussed more in the next Article.
